Human Resource Analytics
Apply data analytics to support strategic decision-making about work force and talent, and better manage people-related issues.

Overview
When Google was doing it five years ago, it was called “people analytics,” and just a few of the top companies were using data-driven business acumen and analytics to make decisions about their work force.
Now, according to McKinsey, “a growing number of businesses are applying analytics to processes such as recruiting and retention, uncovering surprising sources of talent and counterintuitive insights about what drives employee performance.”
Human resource analytics involves the application of analytic processes within a human resource department for the purpose of improving employee performance. You can master this in-demand skill set with our new HR analytics coursework.
The human resource analytics area of study trains you to use a data-driven approach to managing people-related issues, such as recruiting, performance evaluation, hiring and promotion, compensation, and employee retention.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, an HR Manager’s average salary in 2018 was $113,300 in an expanding job market. Like all management positions impacted by data insights, HR professionals with analytics skills are in high demand.
Human resource analytics is an option in the business analytics major offered in Corvallis and online through Ecampus.
